Altar Guardians are intentionally crafted beings each holding a special intention, which they radiate in the space they are in.
Creation is a slow process with many steps; their heads, hands, feet and sometimes bodies, are sculpted from paper clay and painted with acrylics. Many have head appendages which are wires wrapped in thread. The guardians with fabric bodies are made with naturally dyed and recycled fabrics, stuffed with ocean pebbles and buckwheat hulls. Some are adorned with small bones, seashells, and feathers, all of these elements I find myself or ethically source.
